Helping Quad City urban students realize their full potential - in school and in life

World of Work

The focus of the World of Work Program is to provide students/youth with educational experiences and opportunities that develop and support the skills and knowledge needed to effectively navigate within a global workforce.

World of Work programs are available to students residing in the Iowa and Illinois Quad City area with special attention given to the educational needs of the underserved and low income students. QC United wants to ensure all students have access to quality education opportunities and are made aware of the various avenues available to them that can lead to a productive career and life. This includes exposing students to a variety of career choices and higher education options with an emphasis on the soft skills needed to effectively interact within a diverse global population.

QC United, in partnership with The Stanley Foundation, offers the World of Work Symposium to 150 high school students. This is a one-day event offered free to students and includes a diverse selection of speakers with international business/work experience. The symposium also includes a career and college fair. Arrangements are made with interested high schools who then arrange for students to be bussed to and from their perspective schools to the symposium that takes place during a school day. QC United also offers yearly scholarships to six students from the Iowa and Illinois Quad Cities. Matching fund scholarships are available to qualified graduating QC high school students attending the following schools: Augustana College, Black Hawk College, St. Ambrose University, Scott Community College and Western Illinois University-QC Campus. QC United is also the proud sponsor of the Annual Reece Morgan Community Scholarship. Click here, for more information about QC United Scholarships.
